How does charging work?

Once you register your details online, accept our terms and conditions and select a virtual web hosting option, charging will start. Choosing a virtual web hosting option (e.g. from option 25 to option 250) activates your account and causes the first items (the setup fee and first monthly fee) to be charged to your credit card or account (depending on what payment method you selected when you registered). After that, nothing happens for a month. Then our billing system regularly checks what services we are currently providing you and raises the appropriate bill each month.

If you are paying by credit card, we debit your account and send you a VAT invoice for your records. If you are paying by cheque, we send you VAT invoice for payment.

How do I pay my virtual web hosting bill?

When you register to buy one of our web hosting options, select your preferred payment method - credit card or invoice.

  • If you wish to pay by credit card, enter your credit card details during the registration process. We will then debit your credit card account and send you a VAT invoice showing what we have taken and when.
  • If you wish to pay by cheque, we will send you a VAT invoice and you will return payment by cheque.

How do I know how much I am paying for my hosting service?

You can see a statement of your bill when you log on to your hosting administration area using your account number and password. You can do this via the www.ntl.com/ecommerce website.

  • Once you've logged on, select "Your Bill" to see a summary of your current bill
  • Once the summary of your bill is on screen, you can drill down further to see a list transactions that make up the total by selecting the appropriate period e.g. 01/10/2000 to 30/10/2000 or statement number. You'll see the time period (from/to), a description, and amount charged.

Is there a charge for cancelling?

No, there is no cancellation charge. If you do wish to cancel your virtual web hosting service, send us an email or post us a letter giving one month's notice of your wish to cancel. Or you can phone to notify us, but then you must follow up your call with a confirmatory email or letter.
